Nap time in a house with young ones is probably one of the most welcome times of the day.
We count on the fact that Cedric will sleep from 1-4 each day. Sometimes he even goes until 5. He has always been a good napper and I enjoy the quiet time in the house to get things done.
A few weeks ago, I caught this moment. He went down as usual. I heard playful noises coming from his room. We figure if we wait long enough, he will fall asleep. On this day, I went in to tell him to sleep. Well, he had found at least 6 books on the shelf to bring to bed as well as countless animals. He was quite happy running across the room and back to his bed. At least he was in bed.
Just two days ago I heard the pitter-patter of feet in his room above our living room. I also heard drawers closing and running feet going back to his bed. I went in and not only had he stolen all his books, but also all his pants, his sock box, and all his toiletries. He helped me clean up then went to sleep.
I have to say though that if I have to have him fighting naps, at least he is in his room and playing on his bed. He doesn't ever try to leave and he doesn't get off his bed for more than a couple minutes.
We have compromised the fact that he wants "stuff" in his bed to letting him sleep with his four giraffe lovies, 3 blankets, 2 board books, and his alarm clock. He fights the most about the alarm clock for some reason.
Oh the fun of being two!
