Planes, Fa-Fas, and Autotmobiles....and a Boat

While in Washington, the kid got to travel and experience many different types of vehicles. Can I just say he loved it, that we constantly heard "choo-choo" or "whoo-ooo" from the backseat of the car. The kid loves things with wheels. Here is what he was able to do.
Plane: When we walked onto the plane, he smiled at the stewardess and he peeked into the cockpit. She said to take a look, which the kid took as, "go climb into a seat and fly the plane." The pilot was so great and said to go grab our camera as Cedric sat in the chair and looked at all the buttons. The pilot talked to him and he pretended to drive. That is not something that happens very much anymore I feel like. So this was pretty cool for the kid.

Firetruck: The kid LOVES firetrucks. I mean, everything is no longer a car, but a "fa-fa" which means firetruck. My sister called a friend while we were there and we went and sat in the trucks in the Burlington station. The kid would sit in one, notice another truck to his side and scream and point until he was sitting in the next trucks seat. Needless to say, he didn't realize there were 4 trucks and he just kept switching between the different engines.
Automobile: The kid got lots of time in the car. We drove from Spokane to Walla Walla on Wednesday at a three hour drive. On Saturday drove from Walla Walla to Burlington (north of Seattle) which was about 5 hours (6 if you are my mom). And then on Wednesday we drove from Burlington to Seattle at an hour and half. The best thing for him, we decided to turn him around so this is the last time he faced rear facing. Lucky kid.
And the boat: We took a ferry to Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands. The kid thought the steering wheel was cool and we had a hard time prying him away from it. He learned the word boat after this trip and pointed them all out in the harbors from then on out. It's pretty cool what he has learned vocabulary wise and how quickly he is trying new words.
