What's in a Name?

You might be wondering, "where did that name come from?"

Well, let me tell you. It was a very easy name choice. Curt and I both have family names so we knew that in some way, he had to have some part of his family in his name.

Curt is a variation of his grandfathers name, which is Darrell Curtis Russell. His dad also got the name and later they dropped the first name for Curtis Russell to be his own.

Mine, well I am named after my great grandmother Lyette Marie. My grandma (Rose Marie), wanted a daughter and never had one. My parents used the name for her on their first daughter, me, Lyette Marie.

Now to our choice, a few years ago, we were having breakfast at Starbucks. We weren't thinking honestly of kids or what their names would be, but it is fun to dream. So we said a few boy names, all sounded funny (so did the idea of us with a little boy). I kept thinking all boy names are kinda boring, nothing really different. Finally we said, what if we did Cedric. Done. Then came the fact of which grandfather to put in the middle name. That was easy, both.

After that, we never discussed a boy name. It has always been Cedric Russell Raymond. Cedric, well we heard that from Harry Potter, we loved the sound of it and that it was different. Over the years we just liked the sound more and more. Russell, that is Curt's middle name as well as his grandpa Olson and his dad. Easy. And Raymond, that is my dad's middle name. What could be more perfect?

That is how this little guy got his name :)
