Squirrels

There is a great story we have about coming home from the hospital. Here it is:

The day we went to the hospital, I decided I wanted to bake a cake. Yellow cake, chocolate frosting. YUM! We had friends in town and I thought it would be a good dessert to share if they wanted to come over after dinner. I also though that if I baked said cake, I would probably go into labor because I was planning on something for that evening. Go figure.

Well, we left for the hospital, the cake sat on the counter untouched. A few days a later, my mother in law went to our house and saw the cake was not how I left it.

She came to the hospital and told Curt and me that Aspen had managed to get into our cake. She described the cake as having the center eaten out and paw prints on the counter. Curt and I were shocked as Aspen was at their house and COULDN'T eat the cake. My mother in law left it so we could see what"Aspen" did, but we thought new baby and animal in the house, eek!

We got home and saw right away the mess. We also saw tiny pawprints going in and out of our screen on the window. The squirrel had come in, had a snack, and left. At least he was not in our house!

The next day, some visitors came by and the squirrel was in our house again! He came in while we were all home. Needless to say that he needed to be relocated. So we got a squirrel trap and lured him in. But he was smarter. He went into the trap, ate the snack and got back out! It took a few more days and we finally caught the squirrel. We let him go at a park VERY far away. We sure hope he doesn't make it back!
So that is our squirrel story, definately not what you want to deal with when you just are bringning home a baby. Now, to fix the screen!
