I am a little behind the times, but a few weeks ago some wonderful people threw me a shower. My mother-in-laws friends throw the most BEAUTIFUL showers and it is so fun to spend time with all of them. I got a special surprise as the day before the shower, my mom and sister showed up in Denver, WHAT? I did not expect that as my mom would be a few weeks later and Steph had just finished school that week.

The surprises were not done yet. My mom had been secretly working on an afghan for baby Gus Gus since Christmas. My mom has always made very pretty blankets and this was totally unexpected. It is pirates (like we wanted) stitched onto the blanket holding the alphabet. It is amazing!
To further explain, my grandma Klunt made my sister and I alphabet afghans when we were little and they were our bedspreads. I still have mine and it is wonderful. Now Gus-Gus doesn't have to just have mine, he can have his own with his name on it instead of mine. Just look at those details that go with the pirates!!
Another great gift was from my friend Kathryn. She has done many crafty things to make our baby room so fun. She made this pirate sign for me and hand-cut the whole thing. (We may have seen this in another baby room using the word ROAR instead of ARRR and she made me my own)
So fun to celebrate with friends, family and so many great people that already love baby Gus-Gus. Now, he just has to show up which would be fine anyday as his due date is next week. So exciting!
So fun! Wish I could have been there. That afghan your mom made is INCREDIBLE!!!
