Camp!

If you have ever gone to camp with kids, you learn lots of new things. In the past three days, here are the things I learned from my fifth graders:

1. We hiked 3 peaks (small ones) and boy was that HARD!

2. If you give the ok, boys will use the woods for a bathroom 10 times in a day, girls not once

3. When away, you can choose what goes on your plate...usually only things that aren't green

4. You don't miss home at ALL (or so they say)

5. It is neat to sleep in the same room as your teacher (why?)

6. Nature is pretty cool and that you should leave the city more often

7. Along with nature, looking at 'scat' never gets old (or having your teachers rap about it)

8. They know exactly when to encourage and how to push thier friends

9. If you let 'em, they will touch anything!

10. The top of a mountain is worth the hike

So, here is us, at the top of one of the mountains. We did the three "peaks" of Calwood and they were tired, but loved it.

Even after three days, I think I like them even more. I must be crazy to want to spend my free time with them.
