Teaching

I have officially readjusted to being back at work.

It seemed to be a smoother transition back to working this time than it was with Cedric. I think that has to do with the fact that I knew what I was getting into.

My class is evolving and has started to feel like my class finally. This group of kids has been a challenging group since kindergarten. I was hoping that my love of teaching and my joy of learning would be able to help me with the kids (oh and Harry Potter, which they LOVE!)
It took time, but my 29 kids are becoming such a fun group of kids. I like spending my days with them, challenging them, and really see how they have changed just in a few short weeks. They are getting used to me and often times will notice how fast the day went because they were always engaged.
They are also challenging me not in the ways that I was expecting. I was expecting each day to be hard from being away from my kids and having 29. Instead, we have really integrated technology into the classroom more and their learning has increased so much.

People ask if I want to stay home and when I might do that. I could if I want, and it would be great to be home with Cedric and Quinn. But, when I leave my classroom and the joy that I can create with my students I just know that teaching is right where I should be.

I love what I do.
