Staying Home vs. Working

First, I have to say that I love being home.

I love spending all day, everyday with my kids.
I love watching them explore and play.
I enjoy taking them out to the zoo, museum, and parks.
I love waking up and having the kids in the bed with me snuggling.
I love not having to HAVE to do anything in a day, I dictate my own schedule.
I love that I get this opportunity every year during school breaks and summer vacation.
I really love these two kiddos!

If you ask me right now if I am excited to go back to work, I would say no. Look at all the things I will be missing out on each day. But, I love what I do. I love teaching and being challenged to figure out how to get kids to understand new things.

I love what I do. I could stay home, we could make it work. But I love teaching too much. I miss the classroom. While I am not excited to go back next week because I will miss seeing my kids, I look forward to the routine and the joy that I get from being there. Even though I know my students are tough this year, I look forward to seeing what I can accomplish with them.

Then, in 7 months I get to be a stay at home mom again come summer break.
I guess it is the best of both worlds.

  1. Oh Lyette I'll be thinking about you next week!! I'm right there with you! I love teaching, but some days my heart aches to be at home...especially this morning when I know I have conferences two days in a row until 8pm ;)
