In just a few short hours, we will be headed to the place so nice they named it twice.
I love heading "home". While it is no longer my home (and really hasn't been for 10 years), I enjoy each moment of spending time in a place that is so familiar and peaceful.
Here's what I am most excited for:
- Little man seeing his family- and when I say family I mean EVERYONE! He gets to meet his great grandparents (the REALLY old guy now), he gets to meet all 12 of his great aunts and uncles, and he gets to meet almost all my cousins.
- Thanksgiving- yep, you heard right. My family in Walla Walla celebrates Thanksgiving in October. I have missed so many since being in Denver, but guess who gets some good ol fashioned turkey tomorrow? We do! Along with all the amazing family chaos that comes with the holiday. Fake Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year.
- Dutch Brothers- yum! Best Hot cocoa ever!
- The drizzly rain the Pacific Northwest is best known for. (Although that is what Curt hates most about going there)
- Seeing my dear friend Karen and her family- I love them and cannot see them enough, so excited!
- The calmness that comes with us being in Walla Walla. Often we just feel that we have to do less and get to sit around more as it is a peaceful place.
Overall, I am so lucky that we get to go back and see everyone. I am so excited!
What I am not excited about though is returning home- I then have to return to work and the wonderfulness of maternity leave will have come to an end. I will enjoy each moment of our week away and my time with little man.
I hope you guys have a great trip!!
