This week is the week kids return to school and college in so many places. Nine years ago is when we started college also at Whitworth, and this was the week that Curt and I met :)
Crazy as it sounds, nine years ago we were moving into our dorm rooms at Whitworth. Whitworth does a crazy tradition of welcoming freshmen with lots of activities and mixers to get the freshmen feeling welcome and also meeting new people.
I lived in a dorm called Arend. The second night at school, we had a dinner date with another dorm. In my dorm, the girls lined up outside the building and the guys from Curt's dorm, Mac, lined up with us. I was amazingly paired with Curt. We matched up on the street and went to the dining hall together. It was a great night and we obviously got to be friends after that.

A few weeks later, some guys in his dorm were working on finding some girls to play on their frisbee team. Curt was the one who was known for "knowing" girls and asked the girls on my floor to join their team. We played ultimate frisbee on this team for four years, amazing.
It is amazing that the second night of college I met my husband. It is also amazing that I met the Mac guys and they are still some of our best friends. Do most people find their husband and lifelong friends their first week of college? No, but I was lucky enough to.
