Washington D.C. Spring Break

For spring break, I went to Washington D.C. again with People to People. Boy does that travel program know how to get the kids out in the city and experience EVERYTHING! I was so tired coming back, but again, I am ALWAYS tired returning from my adventures. This time, I was able to visit all the monuments, the capital, white house, Fords Theatre/Peterson House (where Lincoln died), Arlington, and much, much more! Here are a few pictures from the trip.
This is the group of leaders on my bus at Korean War memorial. They were great and so much fun! I sure hope to work with them again someday.
My students. I had 10 kids this year and they were great fifth graders. There was one from Montana and the rest from the east coast. They were sweet and enjoyed their experience.
On the last day, we went to the police officers memorial. I had never been. The kids laid a wreath in honor of those that protect them. Well, when we were doing it, a former police officer was visiting the memorial and saw us. He told his story how his partners name is on the wall as he was killed in duty. Also, his sons parter is on the wall. He spoke to the kids and told them about the meaning that they had on him. It was truly touching. He is in the picture with all the kids from our bus.

Needless to say, again I had a great experience. I came home and slept for 12 hours but that is always expected. I hope you enjoyed my few pictures.
