Do you ever feel that flowers come at the right moment? Well, this past week I have gotten three different kinds of flowers all which were given at the right moment.

This year, my friend Tarah was in another state for my birthday. As a surprise, she sent me flowers at school. It was the most thoughful thing and brightened my day. My birthday was a good one, but with surprise flowers in my classroom it became even better.

On Friday, we celebrated my birthday with friends. I came home from school and Curt had gotten me these sunflowers. I enjoyed the big pop of color as everything seems to be fading around here. Perfect timing for some color.

Yesterday at school one of my favorite former students came back to visit me. His mom sent him with this beautiful orchid. I was shocked, I was wonderfully thankful. School has been busy lately and seeing him with this token of his family's thanks reminds me why I teach. His family had some struggles this last year, I checked up with them again this fall and the mom was so thankful for someone checking on them. As I look at things, stress comes in seasons at school but the point is impacting the little lives in front of me. I know for a fact that it is happening right now as this student came back. He made my day and I cannot wait to see more ways in which I am reminded of my joy in what I do. I cannot forget it when things are hard, I have to remember that kids keep needing love and learning and I am the perfect person to do this for them.
