Fall Break!

I think it is a great thing that Colorado schools do a fall break. Each year when this week comes up I am certain that it is a little gift. I didn't grow up with a week in the fall so it kinda sneaks up as a great surprise. A day before a break in school can be either a pain because the kids are off task or wonderful because it can be fun.

Yesterday was one of those fun days before break. In the morning, my kids were on task completing pen pal letters to James' class in Washington (James and I went to college together). We also made a video to introduce ourselves to our penpals. The kids loved it. One video in particular you can see the kids personality. This is kinda what my day is like, you might tell who my entertaining ones are from this:

After that, we had reading buddies with first grade, read our scary stories we wrote, and had a fun run. I must be a little nice to them as I brought in cider (most have never had it) and they all loved it. I also made cookies for my friends and another teacher made carmel corn. We spent the afternoon laughing and having treats and they were all so appreciative of the fact that I made them treats. I love this group of kids, each day they make me smile. Enjoy your fall break, I am starting mine with going to a soccer game (of three of my kids) and then picking my dad up at the airport.

  1. Glad to hear you are enjoying your class. I usually enjoy my day until I go to 6th grade. I never know how that will go.
