San Francisco

This past week, Curt and I went to San Francisco for a little trip. We got an insane deal on airline tickets and a good hotel. We spent four great days in the bay area.

Day 1: We walked to the Embarcadero and Pier 39. Then, we decided to go to Ghirardelli Square, Lombard Street, Coit Tower and back to Pier 39. We walked close to 6 miles just in one evening. We had a great time just getting around the city.

Lombard Street, the most crooked street in the world!
Ghirardelli Square, you get free chocolate samples and yummy sundaes!

Day 2: We met up with some great college friends in the city. Peter and Heather drove up from Santa Cruz and Tim actually followed us out from Colorado to visit his family. We had a great day where we enjoyed breakfast on Pier 39 and a Oakland A's baseball game in Oakland. They were playing The Giants so the game was full of people supporting both fans. It was really fun to be able to go to a game there!

Day 3: Curt and I got an early start and went to Alcatraz. We did the audio tour and saw the view from the island. It is incredible that an old prison is a now a national park where we pay over $20 to visit. But, as it is my second time there, it is well worth the trip. After Alcatraz, we rented bikes and rode over the Golden Gate Bridge into Salsaulito. It was a small town that kinda reminded me of Walla Walla. Round trip it was an 18 mile bike ride.

Day 4: Our last day! We rode the trollies and also visited the Exploratorium, kinda like an OMSI. We had a blast and totally recommend San Francisco to anyone for a nice get away!

Thanks for checking on our trip! We have plenty of other adventures to write about as the summer goes on.
