Brekenridge Ice Sculptures

This past weekend was the Brekenridge Ice Sculpture contest. Teams from around the world come to Brek to carve out cool things that go with a theme. They get a 20 ton block and work for a week with no tools that are mechanical. I convinced on Friday the third grade teacher to join me on an adventure up there. Here is what we found: Tarah and Me by the signAn uncarved block

The frogs was one of my favorites

This was my favorite, the bear is trying to eat a fish...he almost has his tongue on it.

And, because I can't resist a little bragging, I got my Promethean Board in last week and it is AMAZING! Here is what it looks like in my classroom. It has been fun and surely makes learning more interactive for the kiddos.

  1. Cool ice pictures! Who would have guessed the ice would be white... I was half expecting a clear glossy look, but this makes the detail much easier to see. Looks like fun! and cold.
